Beekeeping rules in Colombia
You register your Apis mellifera or native stingless bee apiary with ICA using form 3-1598, either at a local ICA office (not the Bogotá head office), through the movement-permit partners, or by e-mail, and ICA will give you back a registration certificate on form 3-1599, since beekeepers and stingless-bee breeders must also register themselves as producers (Resolución ICA 19650/2022).
If you move your hives around, you note on the form the likely locations of the sites you plan to use, including area, municipality, department, extent and contact details, and each year before the season you send ICA the likely locations of your sites, and if you keep native stingless bees you need a licence or authorisation from the environmental authority.
